Meet Ingeborg Riseng – a craft artist with a unique eye for movement, form, and materials. From a young age, she has had a strong drive to create and express herself visually, something that is reflected in everything she does as an artist.

Ingeborg draws inspiration from the dynamics of nature, movement, and organic forms – an expression that carries through regardless of the material she works with. Although she primarily creates jewelry and sculptures, her creativity often leads her in new directions – from leatherwork and drawings to small figurines. She enjoys experimenting and works with everything from precious metals and stones to clay, silicone, and Styrofoam. For her, art is about freedom and exploration.

Early on, she chose an unconventional path. After fighting her way into the goldsmith program at Elvebakken, she continued with a specialization in metal at what is now the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Since then, she has worked with public commissions, sculpture, and independent projects, alongside developing her jewelry practice.

Today, Ingeborg is based at Vækerøstuene – historic studios that house artists in Oslo. Here, she creates handmade jewelry and art with a focus on accessibility, true craftsmanship, and the joy of making, driven by nature, movement, and playfulness.

Ingeborg is wearing the sweater Ull er Gull, which she has knitted herself in the colors Sand and Mocca.

Ingeborg is part of the Norway we wish to highlight: a Norway of passion, craftsmanship, history, and curiosity.

This is Ingeborg Riseng.
