Construction

The sweater is worked in the round, from the bottom up. Stitches are added in the sides, which are later cut open to create the armholes. When the work reaches the neckline, the body is worked back and forth in pattern until the front piece is finished. The yoke is shaped with short rows at the back of the neck, using German short rows. The sleeves are identical and knitted separately, with regular increases along the underside. The neckline, ribbing on the sleeves and yoke are worked in k1, p1 rib. Some parts of the pattern are embroidered afterwards to avoid long floats – this applies to the vertical stripes and the core of the tomatoes (in contrast color 2).
