The sweater is worked top down, allowing you to try it on as you go and adjust the length if desired. The pattern includes long floats, meaning there may be many stitches between uses of the contrast color. Therefore, the strand on the wrong side will become very long. It is important to catch the float on the wrong side approximately every 3–5 stitches, so that the long float is secured. This will also help prevent the float from becoming too tight. Make sure to regularly spread the stitches out on the needle to ensure that the floats are long enough so the fabric does not pucker due to tightness.
