Description

Kornblomst means Cornflower and is named after one of nature's beauties, due to its texture. I wanted to design a vest that is both cute and has a bit of an edge. I was missing a knitted garment that can elevate an outfit. The vest is cozy and warm, and perfect to wear over a shirt. A perfect statement piece. I’ll be wearing mine at the office, just the right balance of cute and edgy.

The vest is knitted in Myk Norwegian Lambswool in 3021 Pink.

Construction

The vest is knitted from the bottom up so that the textured pattern faces the correct direction. The back piece and front piece are knitted separately before being joined at the waist. At the waist, a tunnel is knitted for i-cord drawstrings, giving the vest a neat waist shaping. After this, the work is knitted in the round before being divided for the armholes. The front piece has decreases for the armholes and neckline. The back piece has decreases for the armholes and neck. The neckline and armholes are finished with a stockinette edge that is folded and knitted down. Finally, two i-cord drawstrings are knitted and threaded through the tunnel at the waist.
