Meet Fredrikke Sofie Jerring, a versatile woman who wears many hats. In her day-to-day life, she runs Lofoten Apartments together with her partner, Erik; alongside this, she works as a yoga instructor, photographer, and interior design consultant, among other roles.

When we meet Fredrikke, she is living in Lofoten, surrounded by magnificent scenery that offers opportunities for time spent in nature and exciting adventures.

After completing her acupuncture training, Fredrikke chose to leave her life in Oslo and move north to join her new boyfriend, who had begun renovating a house in Hopen, Lofoten. At the time, she had barely ever been further north than Geilo; today, ten years later, she says that Lofoten remains the only place she has lived where she has no plans to leave.

"I find almost everything very interesting, but there is very little that is so much fun that I really go into it in depth," says Fredrikke with a smile. That describes her life pretty well. She juggles yoga lessons, photo assignments and interior design consultations, is a mother of two, and fills her spare time with surfing, mountain trips, skiing and ice bathing. "I love being in motion, especially because big problems become very small up on a big mountain or in beautiful nature."

For Fredrikke, it is all about sharing the joy. Many people do not know where to begin when it comes to truly experiencing nature, and the initial hurdle—simply getting out the door—can feel daunting. Through retreats, saunas, and local recommendations for guests at Lofoten Apartments, she makes it easier for others to enjoy what Lofoten has to offer. In this way, she is able to live the life she desires—a life that grants her freedom—while simultaneously inspiring others to experience the very things that give her own life meaning.

Fredrikke is wearing the Embla sweater from our Nostalgia collection.

Fredrikke represents the Norway we want to celebrate:
curiosity, nature, movement, and people who dare to pursue what they are passionate about.

This is Fredrikke.
And this is Our Little Norway.
